Welcome to SMAAK MEET. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and SMAAK MEET (“we”, “us”) governing your use of our dating and social-discovery service (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement. SMAAK MEET is for adults only. By using the Service you confirm that you meet these requirements.
2. Your account
Provide accurate information and keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. One person, one account — accounts are personal and non-transferable.
3. Community rules
Treat others with respect. You may not: harass, threaten, or abuse anyone; post hateful, violent, or sexually explicit content; impersonate others or create fake profiles; spam, advertise, or solicit money; share content that isn’t yours or that is illegal; or attempt to scam, defraud, or extract money or personal details from other members. We may remove content and suspend or ban accounts that break these rules.
4. Automated and curated profiles
To keep the community lively, some profiles may be moderated, curated, or operated by SMAAK MEET, including with automated assistance, and may not represent a specific real person available to meet in real life. Messages from such profiles may be partly or fully automated and are provided for entertainment and engagement. By using the Service you acknowledge and accept this.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos and content you upload. You grant us a non-exclusive license to host, display, and adapt that content as needed to operate the Service. You’re responsible for what you post and must have the right to share it.
6. Premium and virtual items
The Service offers optional paid features (such as SMAAK Premium) and virtual gifts. Where supported, purchases are billed to your mobile balance through your operator and their billing partner, subject to their terms. Virtual items and subscriptions have no real-world monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are non-refundable except where required by law. Subscriptions continue until cancelled; you can manage or cancel them as described in the Service or via your operator.
7. Safety
We do not conduct criminal background checks on members. You are solely responsible for your interactions with others. Never send money or share financial or sensitive personal information, be cautious of anyone who asks, and always meet new people in a safe, public place. If someone makes you uncomfortable, block and report them.
8. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or harm the community or the Service.
9. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee matches, replies, or meetings, and we are not responsible for the conduct of any user, online or offline. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SMAAK MEET is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes are subject to the competent courts of South Africa. Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll post the new version here and update the date above. Continued use of the Service means you accept the updated Terms.
